Phone broken

Hi Ladies, my iphone 7 has for some reason stopped working!!! The port at the bottom does not hold headphones or a charger, I can charge my phone only if I hold it in. Does anyone know the solution to this as I am rather worried as it is a new phone.

Often the lighting port is full of crud (that’s a technical term)

Use a cocktail stick and see what you can fish out of there.

DO NOT USE ANYTHING METAL
