Microsoft Office on an iPad - any good?

Dh has asked me to consult the wisdom of MN. He's currently using an ASUS tablet, with Windows 10 and MS Office on it, but the memory is not big enough to allow it to do the latest Windows 10 upgrade, so he has been looking at ones with bigger memory.

Sadly for him (because he hates Apple), an 128G iPad costs £409, but all the other tablets he has found, with similar memory, cost twice that - so he is considering moving to an iPad, but putting MS Office on there.

He would be using it for work, so the MS Office app would need to be capable of dealing with big files in Word, Excel and PowerPoint - so he has asked me to ask you if anyone has experience of using MS Office on an iPad, and if so, whether it is any good.

I have Office 360, its brilliant on my iPhone X and a bit slow on my iPad mini 3, which is just 64k

I use Microsoft Office on my iPad to do a lot of my Uni work, including excel, and I've never had any issues.

It can be a faff sometimes though, I always tend to format at the end on a PC or Mac.
