APPLe watch, have now Changed phone to Samsung

So: I really love that I can swim with my Apple Watch & my music is on there. But: is there any android app which will support it so I can use it more? I’m pretty sure there isn’t, but just in case....
Don’t understand the cellular aspect-does this mean you can use more functions without having it connected to your iPhone?

Apple deliberately encrypts data between iPhone and the watch so 3rd parties can't build an app to talk to it.

As there is no Sim slot in the Apple phone it needs to connect to an iPhone 5i or later for setting up the cell functions like calling and email.
