Which laptop to buy?

My old lenovo has just packed in so I need a new laptop! Haven't bought one in about 4 years so I don't really know what the newest technology is. Not overly keen on Lenovo as I had lots of little issues with my laptop so I don't really want another one but open to any other brand.

My main requirements are good amount of RAM, good graphics and a screen with relatively accurate colour display.
Uses:
Small amount of photo editing (using Adobe Lightroom which is less intense than Photoshop)
Usual internet browsing
Microsoft word and excel
Light gaming (Sims 4)

Any advice? I've been googling but I'm overwhelmed with choice. Budget is about £400-500 but under would be even better!

No ideas but I'm pretty much in same boat. I don't mind Lenovo though, my bfs desktop is Lenovo and it's doing ok

I would be hesitant to recommend any specific laptops in case you get a bad one but there are many decent companies out there. To help you narrow down to avoid choice overload I would look at:
a) what support options and warranty is available
b) what other customer reviews have been written about the device or company
c) look for a laptop which is a core i3 or i5
d) 4GB of ram should be sufficient although if you can get more do
