Database and Spreadsheet training help

Hi
I've been accepted to start an HNC Administration and IT course despite having limited experience with computers.
The lecturer recommended I build up some knowledge on databases and spreadsheets in particular before the course begins in August.
Could anyone recommend any good online courses, tutorials or books that would help me?

Look for an ecdl course. The microsoft packages such as Excel and Access will have online tutorials although different companies may use alternatives. Some libraries do free drop in sessions.

Just a thought, if you go onto youtube and ask a question regarding what element you want to learn, you will find loads of helpful vids. For example on excel:-

You may want more advanced ones, but it is an example to get you started. Ignore the adverts you get at the start tho.
