Anyone please able to help?
I go to control panel and it is supposed to be listed under hardware/sounds but it isn't and neither is infrared which i figured out how to switch on but promptly forgot how i did it.
Infrared now listed but bluetooth not.

I wantt to send music from laptop to phone as have never tried this. Must have predicted how frustrated I'd be if I tried.

I have been trying to find that out for ages, hope someone knows

Are you sure you have bluetooth on the laptop? If it is on there you should be able to see a bluetooth icon in the control panel. If you can't see it there then it's likely you don't have it.

Perhaps if you can't see it in control panel try changing the view to classic as opposed to category. It should be listed under bluetooth devices with a blue icon. Hope this helps!

Not sure if this is the "correct" way, but if you've got Windows XP, when you bring up the control panel, does it have large icons with the title "Pick a category"?

If so, try switching to classic view (left hand panel at the top). It'll switch to a view which should show a list of configurations. The one you want is "Bluetooth Configuration" (obviously!)

can you not do a search for it ?just type in bluetooth and see if it is there,or maybe open control panel and look in the add/remove programmes.

Am off to try suggestions.

Thanks!

It's not there in classic view.

Infrared wasn't either which made me think i didn't have Infrared but I do cos I set it up somehow!

It's only 6 months old my laptop and uses pile of poo, sorry VISTA.

Ok, no bluetooth. Fine.

I think I have heard of a plug-in bluetooth thingy. Anyone know about that?

Sorry about the technical terminology, am a complete anti-geek.

PapaNewbie · 21/05/2007 23:30

Hmmm. What's the make and model of your laptop?

macmama73 · 21/05/2007 23:37

Medion, don't know the modell though. I am living in Germany, perhaps this make is not available in UK.

macmama73 · 21/05/2007 23:38

MIM2220, is the make, just looked at the sticker underneath!

PapaNewbie · 22/05/2007 00:07

Um yes, not heard of that one in the UK

The only other thing I could suggest for both of you is just to double-check the hardware configuration of your laptops to see if the hardware is actually installed. Failing that, you're right, you can buy a bluetooth thingy that you plug into one of your USB sockets. They're quite cheap as I seem to remember...

Thanks for the info. Will have a search tomorrow
