Please please help me not hate Android

I didnt think i was an Apple fangirl but im about to throw my new samsung s9 through a window.

I get that I can add widgets and launchers but I dont understand the very basics. I'm swiping every which way but just dont get the basic navigation (admittedly ive had an iphone for ?10 years which im sure isnt helping). if anyone can suggest a good idiots guide please share! as my youtube searches are only bringing up android basic tutorials that are 6 years old.

Samsung on their website have a user guide for Android phones, if you know the model of S9, you can try running through it.

Its more of a technical user guide telling you on how to set the phone up. Depending on the level your after, it may help.

The following was written for the 2016/7 update, Nougat (version 7 / 7.1) The current android version is Oreo.

These two guides gives a understanding on how to get the best of your phone, with plenty of screenshots and non technical jargon, it goes back to basics.

I don't know what basics you are missing?

One thing that caught me out with the new Galaxy A5 was that the quick start guide said "press the apps button" to access settings, but there isn't an apps button any more and the latest version uses a swipe up on the home screen to get the apps menu instead.

A very useful short cut is to swipe down from the status bar at the top to control certain features and swiping down a second time brings up more controls.
