I need a soundbar I think; my TV sound is a bit crap (especially on the non-HD channels) and I think a soundbar will help.

I don't want a big surround sound-type system as my lounge isn't that big, but something neat that will sit under the TV. I've got up to £150 to spend and want something that will sound good as well as being versatile so I can connect to music on my phone, my Firestick etc.

Thank you!!

We got one in B&M for £30 and it does the job perfectly. It’s Bluetooth as well so I can play music off my phone through it.

Thanks! Will check out B&M next time I’m there.

I got one from Asda the other day, it was a Panasonic. It was under £70 as I recall - I'm not sure how good it is, but I'm not constantly turning the TV up or struggling to hear it as much now. Using less of the subtitles too. The slight downside is that it comes with its own remote that you have to use to turn the sound on, but it's no big deal (unless you lose the remote Grin)

We spent a long time researching this, went to a specialist shop and listened to every model available. Basically, we concluded that you get what you pay for, and it also depends on exactly what type of sound you want to improve.

For us it was dialogue which was crap on the television. We bought the Sonos in the end - it was simply the best, but also because we already have Sonos everywhere and so it worked best with our existing network. Bloody expensive, but worth it I think.

I’ve not been overly impressed with our Sonos but I’m comparing it to our old traditional 5.1 surround sound system. It’s very expensive, sounds great for music but without the sub woofer I don’t think it’s worth the premium over standard sound bars from Sony/Panasonic
