Turning off messenger phone

I want to disable this. Even though I logged out of fb and messenger it still seems to come through on iPad or phone.

I did google but it just said gear settings on sidebar but couldn't see this on phone or iPad

On both your iPhone and iPad go into settings/messages/iMessage and switch it off there. Hth.
