Using MS Office on iPad

I want to buy a new device for my personal use. My iPad has been adopted by DCs and I don't like using my work laptop as I can't help but check and start answering emails.

I think an iPad would be best but I want to do some word processing and basic spreadsheet things on it.

Does anyone use Office on ios? Is it any good?

Does anyone use a little keyboard with their iPad?

I just don't like using touch screens for that sort of stuff. I can't type properly on a touch screen. Does it have to be an Apple product? How about a tablet that you can use a keyboard with?

Can't you just not open your mailbox when using your work laptop??

No. I have no self control with my work!

I would get a physical keyboard with the iPad so typing in Office isn't an issue.

Set up a separate gmail account for the iPad, don't connect it to work email

My work email doesn't connect outside my work laptop. I have facial recognition on my laptop and a few layers of security to get through which is another reason why it's a pain to use for anything personal.

I have a personal email address which I access on my phone.

I think I am really asking if I should get a personal laptop to enhance the Office suite functionality or a new iPad as that is better for films and online shopping.
