I have a pay as you go mobile with T mobile which was my Mum's but was transferred into my name after she died . We keep it as an emergency phone, so rarely use it.
Anyway it had about £33 on it 11 months ago and I've just switched it on tonight and it's saying I need to top up to use it?
No one else has used it.
Does your credit lapse after a certain time?
That's a bit of a cheek isn't it?!

Anyone know who I phone/ what I do? (I'm normally a Vodaphone user...)

No - no texts. I just tried to make a call (I know you have to 'use' it occasionally to keep the account 'live') and it told me I needed to top up to make the call. I have a record of the £33 at the end of April last year.

I've had a look on their website, but of course there are no customer service numbers

Anyone know what you dial from the phone for customer services (e.g. 150 on Orange)?

i received some dodgy texts from dutch pornbabes or similar that totally wiped my credit. T-Mobile couldn't do a darn thing about it and i ended up getting a new sim

ds had similar with orange. Turns out he had tried to download a ringtone. He was then was put on their mailing list, and every time they sent him a (regular)mailing list text, they charged him for the privilege , even though he didn't buy anything. phone t mobile, and ask them what has happened, and they will give you name of company. I went mad at them saying he is a child, and they said if under 18, they shouldn't do it. They refunded money to me by a standing order.

did you sit on it

I've managed to check the balance and it's confirmed that it's almost £40 but it won't let me make calls??

Have discovered that 150 is the customer service number, so will call them (does that cost me money??)

150 is free on contract phones so I think it will be on payg

T*ssrs! Just had a big argument with some poor soul in the call centre.

Turns out they have changed the 'reactivation period' from 12 months to 6 months, so the phone has been 'hibernated' by them - they were saying that it would cost me £10 to reactivate it!

AND despite re-registering the phone in my name a year ago, the guy on the phone kept calling me by my mother's name .

Anyway I told him in no uncertain terms to speak to his manager and come back to tell me that they were going to unlock it without charge AND update their records.

Anyway, he just did.....

(phew!)
