Talk me through Samsung phone upgrade/transfer

I've just upgraded my Samsung S5 to another Samsung. I have never backed up anything as don't know how. I now need to transfer everything - contacts,photos, WhatsApp chats, texts, etc - to new phone but not sure what steps to take. I was given new Sim card with new phone but I haven't opened it. Do I need that or can I use old sim (still working 5 days after upgrade) in new phone ? Still using old phone

When I bought my new Samsung there was an app that the man in the shop downloaded to both phones and it transferred everything over. Not sure it included WhatsApp messages tho. "Switch" or something. Defo had a white s on a blue background.

Thanks Pirate. I've found it so am going to give it a try.

The app will talk you through it. You hook the two phones up with the charger cable and a special dongle and then the new phone sucks the old phone's soul out.

Think that app does it over Wi-Fi. No cables required ... again ' I think '!!
