I've not long changed internet providers from EE to TalkTalk.
Our internet connection is always a bit shit because of where we live, we don't have the option of fibre. We stream a lot of TV and it's always been fine but now that we've changed over it's not. Obviously with Game of Thrones back on this is of MASSIVE importance.
Our download speed is coming through as 8-9mbs and upload at around 1mbs at this time of day, so I'm guessing it's worse in the evening. I think our download speed was always like that but not sure if we've had a drop in upload.
DH keeps asking me to phone TalkTalk and tell them it's shit and see if they can do anything, or release us from our contract. He also says that the download speed is ok but it's the upload speed that is causing this, but I've searched online and I think he might be chatting shit, apparently its all about the download speed?
We also hotspotted his phone with 4G on Monday and streaming was still shit. So I'm wary of phoning TalkTalk and looking like a knob because is it really the internet connection that is the problem here?
I don't know enough about this complete wizardry to understand. Can someone please help me?!!
(DH sounds like a bellend here, he isn't really, he'll phone if I ask him too. It's just easier if I do it since the account is in my name and I'm not working at the moment.)
