Whatsapp - groups

Hello, I can't find out from Google, so next obvious choice is find out from Mumsnet.

I'm curious, and new to WhatsApp. I set up a local group using my contacts. Their name appears the same as they do in my phone contacts when they message the group.

I've added someone new to the group, this person has not met anyone else in the Whatsapp group yet, so how do these other people appear to this new person? Is it just blank phone numbers or do the other members of the group appear with the name I have saved them with in my phone contacts?

It's Ok, they will just see a number and maybe the person's name if they have put it in their own profile.
I was relieved when I realised this as otherwise everyone would see "Katie's mum" as it is in my phone...

Oh thanks! Yes I was worried because I've used nick names.
