HELP CANT GET RID OF CAPS ETC

CAN SOMEONE HELP< CAN@T GET RID OF CAPS AND ALL SYMBOLS COME OUT WRONG AS IF SHIFT KEY IS CONSTANTLY HELD DOWN BUT COMPUTER INSISTS I DON@T HAVE STICKY KEYS TURNED ON

maybe there's yuk in your keyboard?

or lever the shift key off the keyboard, clean underneath and reinstate.

NO THAT DOESNT WORK MY MOUSE IS ALSO AFFECTED WHEN I CLICK ON A LINK IT OPENS IT IN A NEW WINDOW

the mouse is fine, links open in new windows if you click whilst holding down shift.

Restart the computer?

Def Shift key stuck, probably the little rubber pad under the plastic key bit that you press. Take it off and clean out any crap, it should just pop back on.

Thanks, rebooting seems to have sorted it but have seen some forum posts that suggest it may only be a temporary fix....ARGH I hate Windows...only using it cos my pgcy bumb makes it uncomfy to use my laptop. Thank god only a couple more weeks.

This happens to me too, but only on MN ! Drives me mad, and I haven't worked out why. I touch type so it can all happen a bit quick if I make a mistake. I find that as soon as it happens,if I hold down Ctrl + Shift and then backspace back to delete back to where it was ok, then I seem to delete the command I've inadvertently entered. Otherwise, I have to close down and reboot too. Would love to know what causes it.
