Why is my wireless router all lit up even with the computers off?

I have a Netgear router. I say wireless, but it has three wires so I'm probably using the wrong lingo. It was installed by BIL so that the kids could go online on their computer without me having to bother with another ADSL thingy.

There's no on/off switch on said router and I don't like going to bed at night and leaving something lighted up.

What should I do?

ok I can keep my finger on it - thanks! Gets hot underneath mainly but it seems happier (well cooler) now it's kept on the floor. Lost you all for a while my cat turned off my wireless button on the laptop (didn't know I had a wireless button - do now though

mmmmmm made the mistake of actively getting a friendly people loving somali (tis the character of the breed) however if you sit to type he come sits on you - I've been reduced to standing - so no he just walks back and forwards across it to get me off it! So who told him about the wireless button!!!!
