Faulty IPad

IPad has died after just 13 months and not repairable. Apparently battery has developed a fault and expanded thus displacing the screen upwards. Obviously just out of warranty but is it worth approaching the store where purchased? Not unreasonable to expect something like this to last longer than just over a year surely?

Go to an Apple Store. They will let you know what can be done.

Go to Apple Store. They are usually very helpful and although it is over the year which they state as a guarantee period it should under EU rules be two years. They know this and so do John Lewis who use it to advertise their goods.
