I need to know how to count words in Microsoft Wordpad

Because the new blinking computer has this silly Wordpad thing instead of proper Word for Windows, I can't get a word count on wither of the two wp packages on there - Wordpad and Notepad (both rubbish but Notepad slightly more rubbish...)
I can't carry on counting the words by hand, as it were. Any ideas, oh brainy ones?

Download OpenOffice, which is free? I am pretty sure it has word count.

But that's cos it was set up by a gobshite minimailst who didn't bother putting any of the icons on the desktop. Found it now
