DD smashed her phone & it's locked - can we get any data off it?

She has a from the insurance replacement & she has to send the old phone off tomorrow or Thursday

It's a Galaxy J5 (if that matters)

Don't know anything about Galaxy but if it backs up to a cloud you'll be fine. Ds did similar with iPhone recently- we restored the backup and he'd lost nothing. Good luck!!

Tge SIM card will have stuff on it - can you swap tgat to new phone?

My samsung automatically backs up photos to google photos thats linked to your gmail email address, search google photos then try log in?

Her sim doesn't seem to have the contacts - thanks tho'

Plug it into a pc or laptop, should be able to transfer stuff that way.
Also remove the memory (sd) card if it has one as photos usually get stored on there.

I think I may try a shop; no sd card & nothing when it is plugged in
