Turning off two step authorisation

My DH can't get into his emai account because he has forgotten his password. He is running a business so we need to get back in. We have tried the resetting the password but the codes don't work because two step authorisation is turned on. Are there any smart computer people on here who could help me get the account back. Thankyou.

Can you get into your account on the internet and turn off two step verification. I had such trouble with the codes when I had them on my Apple iPad and Mac that I vowed not to have it again. There was a link to turn it off and have a new password. The idea sounds okay but what happens if you mislay or lose your dedicated mobile phone? As you can guess I am not technical.
