Error 651 when trying to add laptop to router

We suddenly lost connection on our laptop and I have tried to reconnect but it's not giving any options of available networks. I have added our router name and password but then I get an error 651.

Can anybody help please?

Your network card may have failed.

Try rebooting the router and reconnecting.

If that fails try locating the device manager, look ay Network adapters and select the Wireless Network Adapter, right click and see if it says the device is working.
