Printer always 'offline' any ideas?

I have a hp printer.... That's won't print. It's always offline. Have reset it etc . My laptop is 'talking' to it so that isn't the issue. I'm not great with this kind of thing with no one who can help. Do I give up and buy a new one? I didbt pay for this one, sort of inherited it.

Have you installed all the necessary drivers in your laptop? You can go to the hp website and search for your model and you should be able to download the drivers if you don't have done so already.

What's a driver???

If your laptop has done any Windows updates recently, then the printer may need the latest driver downloading. If you go to the printer in your Control Panel/Devices & Printers you should be able to check for the latest driver by right mouse clicking for properties.

My Samsung printer does this every bloody time there's a Windows update.
