Putting SIM into IPhone

I have an old iPhone 4s that I don't use and DH's phone is a basic Nokia. He's on a contact with 3 so could I technically swap the SIM across? It'd be great to nudge him up to the 21st century!

I think the sim might be a different size. Can you request a new one from the network?

If it is a basic Nokia it will probably has a full sized SIM. The iPhone needs a micro-SIM. If the SIM is recent you may be able to simply push out a section to turn it into a micro-SIM. If it doesn't have any push out sections you will need a new SIM.
