Amazon Fire TV Stick

Hi. The house where we are spending the summer (UK) has wifi and has a decent SONY TV (4-5 years old), but it's not "Smart" in that it doesn't directly connect to the wifi. It does however, have USB slots.

I need something to go in the side of it so we can stream movies and so on - DH suggested an Amazon Fire TV Stick. Neither of us has ever used one as our TV's at home go straight to wifi.

There is a free view box, but it's ancient and we aren't sure how easily we can upgrade it to be a record box yet.... bit more complicated...

Anyone with experience of this, or similar please, as to how good they actually are? We would want access to Prime, Netflix and iPlayer most likely and already subscribe to these services.

Is it just a case of plug in and go? Does it connect easily to wifi?

Very grateful. Thanks.

We picked a Roku stick as it isn't tied to a particular vendor. It's probably not much different to the Amazon Fire stick.

Got my fire stick for £19.99 reduced from £34.99 on Amazon day, lucky fluke, now on holiday and it's all set up with our Amazon and Netflix and all other catch up accounts so for the rainy days and evenings in we have our summer viewing sorted!
