unauthorised dvd drive use?

Is there anyway of checking if someone has inserted a dvd into my laptop without my permission? Can I check a history of use and if so, how?

If you know when you think this happened and you think they loaded files to your hard drive you can check when files were added / altered by searching on date modified.
