Windows 8 Desktop Size

Desktop in Windows 8 seems to have suddenly increased in size - task bar and icons. Anyone know how to adjust it please?

Can you right click on the desktop and go to 'Screen Resolution?' Then choose a higher resolution?

Or go to Control Panel, Display and choose a smaller size?

Thank you , changed resolution slightly and looks much better
