Syncing ipod

Please someone help me before I go insane.
I have a new iPod for my sons Christmas gift, it replaces an old knackered loved to death one.
I have set up the new one and pulled through all his music and stories except 2 which appear in a playlist on the iTunes library but will not appear on the device itself. Of course these happen to be the 2 things he will want the most.
Please can anyone help? I loathe iTunes it just doesn't seem intuitive to me.

Have a look at this, found it after googling the problem. Also make sure u have ticked the box against the ones that have not moved.
