Here's a vid with direct comparisons, there's links in the notes about where to buy, and there's lots of comments about peoples opinions of the goophone.
Would dd be telling people it's an iPhone?, just if so she might want to think how she'd handle should someone spot it's a fake. It wouldn't be an issue for me, but if the iPhone brand is important then I'd look around a lot to see how much they actually do pass if that makes sense.
My bil once paid £100 for one of these, it's was a copy of the earlier iPhone models, so their quality might have improved but holding it next to my iPhone 3 at the time it was very obvious it was fake. Screen was like a laptop screen rather than glass, it's was very slow and didn't really do anything. Judging by the vid though, the copies have come a long way.
I personally would never buy one without at least holding it first and researching the lifespan, charge capacity of the cheaper device etc. And even then I'd be very reluctant, I love the iPhones style but I think rather than go with a clone running android, I'd go with an android phone for the budget I had, or buy a generation or two older. Also beware of cheap copies of the goophone, clones of clones I suppose.
I tend to stay away from copies in general, bags, clothes, shoes etc, if I can't afford the brand I'd like then I go for the next brand I can afford, or buy an older branded product. I think it's cos I have this worry that fakes will not last long, and when they do conk I can't return them as easily (if at all) as I could had I bought the genuine one.
