Help ...no email servers

Suddenly messages on my I Pad and PC all saying that my the server isn't working on my gmail, yahoo and virginmedia emails. I am with Virginmedia for broadband. The internet is working but no emails. Has anyone else experienced this? I am "non geeky" so am at a loss. Everything is uptodate. The broadband lights are on my new super hub. I tried taking plug out and leaving it for a while. Nothing! Still same problem. Received a notice saying they were making minor changes to virginmedia emails but that is all. That was a few days ago. What could affect all the servers. Please help?

May be worth looking at this site, which should tell you if they have any problems in your area. Sorry I don't know how to do the clever 'hidden link' thing.

Thank you widower. Virgin have been sending messages saying that they are making changes to their email service. Suddenly all my emails are not working. They are mentioning something about altering popp something or other. It is beyond me. I will gather strength and ring them tomorrow but meanwhile I will go onto the link you have sent me. Thank you.

Just to say the problem is resolved. It was caused by my signing on to a yahoo mail box icon. It made my original email in my I Pad service non operational. It also caused trouble with my other accounts. After hours of trying all sorts on my I Pad and PC I started to have normal service on other accounts so I deleted the yahoo from my I Pad and then reinstalled it with the password I had produced for the mail icon. Everything appears to be normal again. I had also deleted the yahoo mail box icon as that service was bringing in all sorts of spam and was an awful layout. No deletion facility for example.
