Editing pictures on an Apple - help!

I have a picture of a friend's DD and I really want to edit it and send it to her as its a lovely picture. Unfortunately there is something in the background that I want to remove. I've downloaded some editing software but it only seems to do changing red eye, sepia etc.

What I really want is to be able to cut bits out or colour over them. (I'm showing my age here but remember the Paint programme where you could paste a picture in then colour all over it?)

Can anyone tell me what I need to do this please?

Thanks!

Not really what you are after but it might be enough. Touch Blur
It allows you to blur part of the image by touching it, so you could blur the bit you do not want.

Thanks Cindy

If you have office 2010 or later, there is the option in word or PowerPoint (on the format picture tab) to "remove background". Google for a better explanation of how that works.

Super, I'll take a look at that too.

If you import your image to Pages you could use the edit mask or instant alpha feature.

Thebirdsneedseeds · 26/08/2015 07:24

Excuse the ignorance...if you are still about... What is Pages?

Pages is the Word equivalent on Apple.

If you are using a mac type pages into finder and ot should appear.

Great! Thank you very much Rooster, and everyone else.
