Removing duplicate folders

Can anyone recommend a freeware program that will remove dup folders - will do files after but there are duplicated folders everywhere?

Is this on aa Apple, or Linux, or Windows, and if Windows, what version?

Win XP, Win Vista, Win 7 or Win 8 ?

Only ask because some bits of software I might suggest may be for Win XP and might not be available or compatible.

Bump - anyone using Win 8 able to recommend software to assist?

(I have mostly XP and Vista systems, so well out of date, plus old iMac 10.5 and 10.6 - they're on 10.10, and Linux {don't ask!} )...
