My data coverage is rubbish. Often I can't get 3G, just GPS or E. I went into O2 and he guy said it was the fault of he iPhone.

What is your average like?

Where do you live? Rural or built up area?

City centres are particulalrly bad for me, but I don't understand why

I'm on Giffgaff which piggybacks the O2 network and mine is usually fine.

I'm in an average town. Not too built up and my 3G is fine.

i wonder if it is my phone - i didn't have this problem with my iPhone 3

The iPhone 5 is crap IMO, the 4 was much better! My 3G coverage is ok and I'm pretty rural but my network coverage is useless compared to my old 4.

I have tesco which like giffgaff uses O2. I live in a small East Midlands town and in some parts and at home 3G is fine but at my workplace, in the same town 3G doesn't work at all and I often cannot connect at all. It's very variable.

It varies. At home (small village) it's horrendous but it's normally ok in towns. Dreadful on trains, O2 has huge black spots (and I use one of the busiest rail lines in the country Hmm).

I have some friends with the iPhone 6 who have to switch aeroplane mode on and then off several times a day to connect properly to the data network.

Ooh I was thinking of upgrading my 4s to a 5. Perhaps not.
