Mobile Upgrade - Samsung Glaxy S6 Edge or iPhone 6 Plus?

Evening all,

I am looking for opinions on the above mobiles. Up until my awful iPhone 3GS, which died with the white screen of death days after the warranty expired, I was a faithful iPhone customer. Since then I have had the Samsung Galaxy S2, S3 and S4 (which I am now upgrading) and I haven't had any problems with them. But, as this phone is going to last me 2 years, I want to make sure I am making the right choice.

Which would you choose? Or is there another mobile I should be considering? Any phone I consider has to be Android or Apple to support the university applications I use.

I've got the Galaxy S2, along with several other (low end) Android mobiles, and my sister is a keen user of the iPhone (probably 5 or 5S, have not seen her, or it, in past 3 years but know she's happy). Currently using Soxy Xperia T (flagship about 18 months ago) and Motorola Moto G dual SIM (5" screen, 8MP camera)

Thanks NetworkGuy. I had a good look at the Edge vs standard S6 and there didn't appear to be anything (other than the obvious gimmick) to warrant the extra £ on the price tag! So, I have opted for the standard S6.
