Connecting phone to wi-fi - or rather not connecting! Help!

I have wi-fi with Virgin and an iphone 5c with Vodafone.
My phone has decided to stop talking to the wi-fi and I just cannot connect the two.
The network name comes up and I enter the password (which is correct as I have connected before and also connected wi-fi to the TV with same password) but it just keeps on asking for the password over and over and over and then it just says nope, can't connect.

Where am I going wrong?

I don't have an iPhone, but there are different types of encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2). If you can tell your iPhone to 'forget' the network, then 'scan' for networks, and then try connecting again, it might get the iPhone out of this loop.

FWIW, I have two separate networks in the house and for each network have 2 Wi-Fi signals (on different channels) (*). I have a few NowTV boxes and in all cases they can connect to the router but not the second wi-fi access point.

So you are not alone in having things which won't connect, even though you know the encryption key (password) is correct.

(*) the second channel is used so there is coverage from the house to the end of the garden while the routers are connected on the opposite side of the house, where the phone lines come in.

Thanks NetworkGuy - glad to hear it's not just me being completely dim!!

Would you believe I have just gone to try your suggestion and the phone has connected itself!!
But I have seen there is an option to 'forget' networks, so I will try that if this happens again (which I suspect it will!!)

Cheers
