I'm sick of IPhones, so expensive and mine always seem to bugger up in a multitude of annoying ways. But I love how easy they are to use. Can anyone recommend a good alternative? I had an htc a few years back but didn't like it at all...

Dd recently got a Nokia Lumia. It is so nice to use, and I think that I will think about getting one for myself. I have a Samsung and a Blackberry (due to work reasons) and the Nokia is dual sim, so then I can just have the one phone with two sims.

A friend of mine just got a Hisense one. It really is a nice phone and half the price of a Samsung. Dh has the Samsung 5. He hates it, and i cant type on it either.... His emails don't just come in, he has to refresh them all the time which he finds annoying (he gets over 300 emails a day so he spends a lot of time refreshing it!) and as he travels a lot, every time he leaves the country the settings for roaming change? This may be a work IT thing but he didn't have that problem before on his old phone.

I just personally think that anything with an i in front of it is overpriced...

I've got a samsung S5 and I love it, I upgraded from an S3 which I also love.

abyss has your DH tried deleting then reinstating his email account, I had trouble with mine freezing but that fixed it and now I don't have any problems.

Smiling I will mention that to him, thanks.

After having a couple of Sony xperias using android operating systems I'm loving my windows phone. Nokia Lumia 1025. Not as many apps admittedly but it does everything I want with a fantastic camera and brilliant offline free satnav.

I've had a samsung s5 mini which was bloody awful and I've got over to a Sony Xperia z3 compact and I love it.

I have loved an old Sony Xperia and also my Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (although the camera on that was terrible - iPhone 5's is MUCH better).

I used to use a Blackberry for work - it wasn't touch-screen but it was brilliant for typing, because of the keyboard. Currently use a company Nokia Lumia, which I find incredibly user-unfriendly.

I went from s2 to s3 & found it laggy. went through every change possible under warranty so that it ended up just the original case & simcard...still laggy. Just thrown in the towel & moved to Samsung A5 & loving it! Blistering speed & many clever things happening.

BTW I also had the Gmail problem a couple of times & had to uninstall/reinstall Gmail to kickstand it again.

PS I moved to A5 instead of S5 as it was a lot cheaper on contract & did what I needed it to.

I have a couple of Sony (Xperia Tipo, Xperia T), Motorola Moto G (dual SIM), and several Samsung (Ace 3, Europa, Mini, and S2). Also two Huawei and a ZTE plus some others which I forget.

Used to have the Samsung Galaxy Ace but passed on to my sister.

What was it about the HTC you didn't like ? What are you after in particular - and what budget (for outright purchase) or monthly limit do you want (and if a monthly contract, have you any particular network or text/ data/ voice minute allowances in mind) ?

Sorry about so many questions, but with phones ranging from 75 to 700 quid, and 15 to 50+ a month in contract, makes sense to know what you can pay/spend first.
