Hi I have suspected I have opened an email that supposedly came from DH. Today I tried to change my password but had lots of problems. I went on to Hotmail and the person at the other end tried to help fix the problem. Unfortunately I started to get suspicious when he told me to open DH's account. When I asked i could do it he said yes. He then said if there were too many problems it would cost me £130. I told him I didn't want to continue so he said he would call back tomorrow. Now although I can get into my account I can't open a new email to send. Does anyone know how to get in touch with hotmail to get help. I am on an iPad.

Have you run an anti virus app such as Norton or McAfee?

I don't have it on the iPad. I can get it new emails on my Mac but not on either of my iPads. I have changed my password. I'm now wondering if the guy who was trying to help yesterday has tampered with anything because I wouldn't pay the money. He had access to my computer.

Have you told the iPads your new password? How exactly did you contact the person who tried to help?

I looked up hotmail support on google. My new password gets me into hotmail but I can't reply or start new emails on the iPads just on the Mac.

Who exactly did you phone? If you google "hotmail support" most of the links are for non-Microsoft companies who charge for attempting to give support. Did you actually contact Microsoft?

How did the guy you spoke to have access to your computer? Do you mean your Mac or the iPad(s)?

If you've changed your password for Hotmail you will (as PP has said) need to update your Hotmail email account on each iPad to give the iPad the new password.

Can you log in to hotmail via a web browser (eg safari on the iPad), and access your email as normal?

www.live.com is where you would log in to hotmail via a web browser.
