18 month old Toshiba. Windows 8.1. In the, last, few, days the mouse, has kept freezing/disappearing. Today it's lost, the plot completely.can't get into my talk talk emails in standard version as suddenly I have an.unsupported browser (it says). Can't see anything that involves java script or adobe flashplayer as apparently these have disappeared....what on earth? Have spent an hour trying to get into internet explorer tools to try and, resolve but don't really know what I'm doing. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a virus. Have you done a health check scan for viruses?

minxthemanx · 15/03/2015 15:29

I haven't, no. Have got Norton anti virus thing on there, and macafee security, don't ask me why I've got both, no.idea. How do I do health scan?

Have to confess im no IT whizz at all but managed to get rid of a virus or two myself. Go into 'help' if you can and search for virus scan or health check. Have a hunt through until you see something that refers to a scan.

Golly well done! I've clicked on.the macafee thing and, it's running a, full scan. Thanks for your help. Pain in the backside, kids haven't been.able to do their homework!

I just try and muddle through til it seems to be working better. If it still plays up it may be worth backing up anything saved on it and restore back to factory settings. You may have to re-install some programs afterwards or may not have to. Im a bit more cautious these days with what im clicking on when trying to fix bugs, my ignorance the first time trying to save us paying for repairs led me to deleting everything even the modem! Shock google is always great at finding answers to solving problems too x

Is the mouse wireless? are the batteries on the way out? is the receiver unit blocked or something?

Dont forget to keep on top of Windows security updates and that they are installing.
