Uploaded personal photos onto work's dropbox!

I have a personal dropbox account. A few months ago I did some work for a company using my laptop, and was synced up to their dropbox account.

I noticed that I was still getting updates every time they uploaded something onto their dropbox (and I was able to access it). I tried to delete it off my computer but think all I've done is deleted the shortcut.

I just put a memory stick full with 300 photos into my computer, and it automatically uploaded them on to their bloody drop box! I may have inadvertently uploaded other personal stuff over the last few months!

Yet when I go to the drop box website, it has my personal name and password stored (not sure if this is relevant even, sorry).

How do I get rid of their dropbox and sync my own dropbox onto my laptop?

There should be a Dropbox icon near the right hand end of the bar at the bottom of your screen. Click on it. In the box that appears click on the gear icon top right and select Preferences. A dialog box will appear. Click on Account. You can now see which account you are linked to. If it is the wrong one click on the Unlink This Dropbox button. Dropbox will unlink from the work account and ask you to login again.

However, it may be that none of this is necessary. It could be that they have shared a folder with you. That means you will be able to see any files they put into that shared folder. However, Dropbox would remain linked to your personal account. Nothing you put in Dropbox will be seen by the company unless you copy it to the shared folder.

Hopefully they didn't get all my photos through but the constant updates everytime they put something in dropbox was annoying anyway.

My laptop is definitely now synced with my personal account, however it started syncing all the work stuff which I put a stop to. When I go to the dropbox folder, it still showed some of the work stuff (which I have delete) and not the stuff that is in my personal drop box. Not the end of the world though! (Maybe I just need to reboot?).
