Can someone explain Chromebooks to me?

What are the advantages/drawbacks? They are a lot cheaper... Our broadband is quite slow here

If your bb is slow they'd be rubbish I think.

I was asking and was told to try working everything I wanted to do from within a chrome browser window for a few days as, effectively that's what they do - so Internet is fine depending on bb speed , your photos are web/ picasa based, email is mainly gmail etcetera. I assume there are wp apps? Music would be web stored so access / streaming very bb dependent.

I have a Chromebook and will never go back to a Windows Laptop.

If your broadband is slow, it will be slow on whatever device you use.

What do you want to do outside the browser? For instance, Photoshopping, Microsoft Excel.
