What has the cat done to my laptop??

Help I left my laptop open on the table and when I came back, I found the cat sitting on it. Now, when I press the return key to make a paragraph, the control panel power saving menu window opens instead. How can I get it back to normal????? (For obvious reasons, this post contains no paragraphs ...)

Have you tried the obvious - shut it down, reboot and hope.

Alternatively have a strong word with the cat and tell it no food until it fixes it.

Amazingly, I hadn't ... was in a panic about new work laptop and sticky footprints/reprogramming by cat ... and,

worked.

Well, at least that was a simple (and cheap) lesson learned.

If the cat had decided to "mark territory" you could have had a smelly dead laptop and work would be less than impressed!
