Scanning and emailing - help!

Would be grateful for any tips here as I am clueless!
I need to send a bundle of documents over to a company, about 30 pages. The person I was dealing with told me to, "just scan them and email them over". I have literally NO IDEA how to do this. I can scan and send over one page at a time, but that's the extent of my knowledge. I'm guessing I need to put them all into some kind of file?

The other option is to print them all out and send them via snail mail, but I really need to get them there by tomorrow.

I have Windows 8, and a Canon scanner if that helps.

How about this:

1. Create a folder with an appropriate name
2. Scan each document, and save it to this folder
3. When complete, compress the folder by zipping it.

I use 7zip, but you can use Windows' own zip utility too: windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/zip-unzip-files

1. Attach the zip file to your email.

I am equally useless with technology but think I can help. Canon image garden (programme where the scans upload to) allows you to do this.

1. scan first page
2. image garden will pop up, delete any other scans in there you might not want or save them
3. scan all other pages
4. select all pages you want to save in doc and click to save as PDF
5. click save all, name the file and choose somewhere in your docs to keep it
6. check the PDF on your computer then delete the scans
7. attach to email

I'd scan each page and save in a specific folder, then send over the whole folder either compressed, or by using a facility like 'we transfer' which send large files quickly and you can access really easily just by googling it.

Hold on a mo. You said you might have to print, etc? It may be possible to print to PDF. NB this isn't the solution you want if there's a need to scan physical pages (for instance, if they have signatures or manuscript amends).

But if that's not an issue, try this: go to print the document in the normal way, but when you get to the bit where you choose the printer, look for a "printer" that says anything to the effect of PDF. Choose this and then where you'd like to store the document ("desktop " is usually best). Give it a name and remember where you've parked.

Then create (or Reply to) an email and attach.

Fewer steps and paperless!

Thanks again everyone for your help - I managed to scan everything, (37 pages!), and then put them in a zip file. I've attached it to an email and sent it off, just waiting for confirmation that it's arrived now, (fingers crossed).
