Phishing Email From Myself?

JanePlough · 28/01/2015 10:57

I hope I can explain this properly...

at the end of December I received an email with my own name as the sender, the subject was Quick Cash- Up To 35,000 dollars!

I moved it to my junk folder but when I tried to block sender I got a message stating "you cannot block your own email address"

I checked my sent messages and it was not in there Confused

I deleted the message and changed my password - I could not find anywhere to contact outlook to report it (in the help tab)

Now I have received the email again!

Does anyone know what is happening? Or what I can do about it? (I haven't opened it)

I am worried about my email account

It's quite easy to fake a from email address in an email address. I've had spam from "myself" too, it's weird! I'd just ignore it, if you've changed your password I wouldn't worry too much.

Do a virus scan and download Malware Bytes to do a scan too, just in caseSmile

Thanks chuff , the only thing is when I try to block sender it says "you cannot block your own email address" which would suggest that it's from my own account and not another set up in the same name......

Going to do a scan now, thanks again
