Kindle app on my Galaxy Tab3

hi, I've had a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (8"version) for about 18 months. It's always worked fine. However, the Kindle app has malfunctioned and I can't sort it out.

Basically, the screen rotation has changed from portrait to landscspe and refuses to change back. I've tried locking and unlocking the screen rotation, turning the tablet off and on again, and have looked through the settings but with no joy. Weirdly, the "front page" of the kindle app, showing you the front covers of your ebooks, is fine, and switches between portait and landscape mode depending on how you hold the tablet. It's just when I try to read the book that it switches to landscape and sticks there.

I'm hoping some mumsnettetr with better tech knowledge than me can sort this out as its driving me up the wall.

have you tried uninstalling and re-installing it?

Thanks, demented, I was going to do that as a last resort but hoped there was a quick fix. However, I did end up doing that as couldn't find another way round it.

The issue now seens sorted, and as a bonus I now realise that ifvI uninstall and reinstall my Kindle app it still remembers all my settings and where I am in various books
