iPod Classic hates my new laptop...

My old Dell laptop died and couldn't be repaired. It had occurred to me that I needed to back everything up, but I hadn't got round to it Sad

I bought a new laptop (Lenovo) but have had nothing but trouble with itunes. The three main issues now are that I always get a message asking me to scan the ipod when I plug it in, after syncing I get the message 'Attempting to copy to this disk failed. The disc could not be read to or written from.' Plus my Cloud library keeps syncing and not everything shows up. I have restored the ipod and reinstalled itunes, I checked to see if there is a problem with the hard-drive and there doesn't seem to be. I would go into Apple but their Oxford store closed down. I've lost 3,000 songs!

Has anyone been through the same thing and fixed it?

Oh, and when it does scan,it says it found errors on the drive, but can't fix them, and I get constant (-50) errors too. Such a mess... I hate itunes.
