How easy is it to install a Virgin Super Hub?

Apparently Virgin have upgraded the network in our area and we can have up to 50MB for no extra monthly cost. We're currently on up to 20MB.

For £6 we (well me!) can install the super hub or for £50 they will install. Bizarrely I can get an appointment for them to come this week but if we install we won't get the router until next Monday! There is no hurry but it seems silly not to upgrade.

So what do wise MNer's think? Leave, do myself, or get the engineer. I'm not currently working so have time (either to do or wait for engineer) and would prefer to save £44 if possible but don't want to end up with nothing working - the family stress in this case would probably out weigh the £44 Grin

we did this, and it was unplug the old box, plug in the new box, ring an automated phone line thing to set it going, lots of internet Smile. The instructions were very easy to follow, even for my somewhat complicated set up (nothing to do with Virgin). PLus I think the box did come more quickly than they said.

I installed my own Virgin super wotsit without any problems. You even get a little spanner in the box to help.

Fab thanks - I'm ordering it to install myself!
