Tablet recommendation for kids?

Hi, possibly looking to get dc (7 and 9) a tab for Christmas.

Can anyone recommend a good one for kids (in that we can limit time, disable various functions, not linked to any card details to be able to rack up bills etc)

Not wanting to get a hugely expensive one like an ipad or galaxy, someone recommended the kindle fire

any suggestions gratefully received!

You can get a Samsung Galaxy tablet for the same price as a kindle fire. I'd definitely recommend them. My nieces both have one and love them. If I was replacing my ipad I'd get one of them rather than an ipad to be honest

Do not under any circumstances get a Nabi. Biggest waste of money ever!
I'm getting rid of the Nabi and getting DS a Samsung Galaxy.

One of the biggest advantages is being able to add storage. I can't upgrade to ios8 cos there's not enough room. I bought my niece a bigger memory card for her Samsung to cope with the apps she has
