How to play iPhone 5c through 30 pin speakers

I have an old apple brand speaker. (I know! I still love it- I've he er seen one anywhere else) like this

Obv old docking. Is there a cable to somehow make it so I can play my newer phone through it?

You need a lightening to thirty pin adapter. I think they are about twenty pounds

Ta. I thought that but on apple website there's lots of angry comments saying it still plays through phone speakers

Is there a 'headphone socket' (3.5mm jack socket) on the speakers? You can get a double ended 3.5mm cable (with a jack on both ends). I use one of those to connect my old iphone speakers with a 30 pin dock to my new iPhone 5c.

Knowing Apple there won't be one. But hopefully there is. I was super grumpy when I realised that my lovely new phone wouldn't fit on my lovely (expensive!) speakers. I tried a lightening adaptor but it was wobbly & kept cutting out. Then I tried an old lead that I'd used in the car before I got my new Bluetooth car wotsit. That works perfectly.
I hope you can sort it out.

I'm invested in this now. I downloaded the iPod hi fi user guide :) it appears that there is an audio input port on the back of your hi if and you can connect 'other devices' using that :)

So (like a 1950s wife!) reported your findings to h. He agrees. I'm a fool and don't quite get it. So I think this is a potential solution.

Hope it works. You need a 3.5mm male to male cable.
