WhatsApp - can it be hacked?

I know this sounds bizarre, but could my WhatsApp account be spied upon?

I have nowt to hide btw - have loved WhatsApp for ages simply because I can send free texts, pics etc to my family who are spread all over the place!

However, someone I know vaguely has had my number for the last year (work based, I was giving them support on their course) has started commenting in certain things I have only text my closest friends. They know far too much about this thing and yet they have absolutely nothing to do with my friends.

Am I being paranoid?

You've not accidentally put them in a group? Can you see the person in Whatsapp as a contact?

Unless they have had access to your phone and have been able to do things to it without your knowledge it is very unlikely they have hacked WhatsApp.

Thanks both.
No, this person is not in a group. I have two groups running - 1 friendship and 1 work based. There's only three of us in both groups and she's definitely not in either. She is in my contact list though and I have kept our chats. I've re-read them this morning and I've not discussed personal things with her, so I'm confused!

I am not at the same site as this person (same profession though). We we're on similar courses last year and sat next to one another.

Am paranoid now about toilet visits without my phone Shock

Same courses, not similar!

If you are going to leave your phone lying around make sure it is locked and that they need a password to get in - NOT the pattern recognition thing some phones have as it is often possible to figure that out by looking for the grease trail on the screen. That way you are safe from people doing nasty things with/to your phone.
