Struggling with new Macbook basics

I've got a new Macbook from work. It's lovely but i haven't a clue how it works. We don't have any other Apple products in our household.

All I've been trying to do tonight is copy and paste my holiday photos. So I realised I needed to download an Android File Transfer - done that. Have found my photos but can't highlight/copy all or seem to drag them anywhere - not that I know where to drag them too. I'm getting really annoyed going round in circles. Right-click only offers me Delete.
Any MacBook users help out an idiot here?

You need to use the command button (CMD) and either C for copy, of V for paste. CMD+X is cut.

Have you got image capture or iPhoto? You import them into either of those.

Oh if the cmd button isn't there its the one on the keft hand side of the space bar, usually has a weird looking squilly thing.

Thanks, yes I have iPhoto but can only seem to drag one at a time and even then they don't appear in iPhoto.
Can't seem to be able to click anywhere which highlights the list of photo jpgs. Can't even open them as it says you must save to your Computer first but don't know where that is

Have a look at this youtube vid, it may help. Remember that if you import a pic from a folder the pic stays in the folder but is linked to by iPhoto.

iPhoto looks pretty but doesn't really do much. You're better off downloading Picasa from Google and organising your photographs that way.

The problem with iPhoto is that when you import the photos they're not kept in folders like with a PC on the disk. iPhoto imports them into a database. This means that very few applications other than other Apple i-apps can access them. It also means you can't drag them around your disk.

Does that make sense?
