The keys don't do what they should. For example, pressing H kicks off a hardware diagnosis. C gives me the copyright logo. DS is 18 months old and frustratingly uninterested in fixing it. Any ideas?

no idea sorry, but at about that age DD1 turned my entire screen view upside down!!

Now I'd be ok if he'd done that. I know how to fix that.

Which version of Windows are you using? Have you got a mouse or touch-pad?

Purplecircle · 22/08/2014 20:18

It might be scroll lock, try pressing it once and see if that helps. Have you tried rebooting?

LetThereBeCupcakes · 22/08/2014 20:24

Widows 7, with a mouse. I actually don't seem to have a scroll lock! It's a logitech MK250 if that helps.

Rebooting not worked.

Aha! I fixed it. Prized the play-doh out from under the alt key and it's back to normal.

Have also learned that you can do a lot of stuff with the Alt key.

Grin

That's a brilliant hardware solution, when we were all trying to diagnose a software malady!

The scary thing is I work in IT Blush

Oh, dont worry about that. As with history, you can just say airily, "Not my field," and be absolved!

For example, DH is/was a programmer, yet I'm the one who erects flatpacks (hardware, you see?) and password protect things like our tablet ("network administrator")!
